Vitiligo is a chronic form of de-pigmentation. Vitiligo affects either one small part of the body or the whole body, it is frequently found on the hands and face. Treatment for vitiligo involves colour tatooing to match closely the colour of the skin but it is recommended that before this treatment is carried out that the vitiligo has remained static for at least 7 years.
Vitiligo is a chronic form of de-pigmentation. It affects around 0.5% of the population and the cause is still unknown.
Vitiligo can cover either one small part of the body or the whole body, it is frequently found on the hands and face. We recommend only tattooing in colour if the vitiligo has been static for 7 years, as it could trigger the vitiligo and causing to spread.
IMPORTANT: An outbreak can always happen so careful consideration must be taken before a patient embarks on a micropigmentation procedure.
The greatest effect is on darker skin.
